Control rooms set up at Mohali & Amritsar for collection & lifting of relief material to J&K

Chandigarh, On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, Controls Rooms have been set up at SAS Nagar (Mohali) and Amritsar to enable the various social, voluntary and religious organizations besides other NGOs for dispatching the relief material to the flood stricken valley in J&K.

Disclosing this here a spokesperson of the CMO said that the organizations desirous of sending relief material to J&K could contact Control Room Mohali at Telephone No. 0172-2220152. ADC (General) Ms. Poonamdeep Kaur (94140-08686) has been made overall in charge in this regard. Collection Centre for relief material has been set up Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib, Phase-8 Mohali and Dispatch Centre at Chandigarh Airport under the supervision of SDM Mohali Mr. Lakhvir Singh (94172-50172) and SDM Dera Bassi Mr. Sanjeev Kumar (98146-43678) respectively. In case of any emergency, the concerned organization could contact the Deputy Commissioner Mr. TPS Sidhu on his Cell No.-9888987867

Likewise, another Control Room has been set up at Amritsar with Telephone No. 0183-2226161, 2226162 under the overall supervision of SDM Baba Bakala Mr. Rohit Gupta.

It may be recalled that 1.90 lac cooked food packets besides large quantities of biscuits and drinking water bottles have been dispatched from Mohali in four IAF planes till 5 pm. Similarly, another IAF plane carrying 26,000 food packets besides 175 kg milk left for dispatched for Srinagar from Amritsar Airport at 1 pm.
