Congress retorts to ask Khaira what authority he has to pronounce others guilty

Sukhjinder-RandhawaCHANDIGARH, The Congress party today hit back at Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira asking him what authority he or his party had to pronounce someone guilty, when he had been exonerated by different commissions of inquiry. “Just because you accuse someone of something for pure partisan purposes does not make him guilty”, the PCC vice president Sukhjinder Randhawa told Khaira in a statement issued here today.

Reacting to Khaira’s wide allegations made during a press conference in Jalandhar today, Randhawa reminded him that he had spent good 25 years in the Congress and it had never occurred to him then that Kamal Nath was guilty of 1984 riots. “That means you were guilty of hiding the truth then or you are guilty of telling a lie now”, he pointed out to Khaira.

“Now that you have changed your masters you have come to realise that he was involved in riots”, he taunted Khaira, advising him, “never try to be more loyal than your masters, as you are habitual of changing your masters too frequently and too regularly, lest you end up embarrassing yourself by contradicting today what you had said yesterday”.

Referring to Khaira’s charges accusing Capt Amarinder Singh of being anti-Sikh, Randhawa said, “Capt Amarinder does not need a certificate from someone like you as his credentials are too strong to be suspected as whole world in general and the Sikh community in particular knows his sacrifice and protest against Operation Bluestar and then again against sending of police into Darbar Sahab and he still has the courage of conviction to speak out the truth”.

The Punjab Congress vice president suggested to Khaira better not to go into the history. “If people start searching and scratching the past you will not find a place to hide”, he warned Khaira, asking him as why was his father Sukhjinder Singh thrown out of police services?

Before taking high moral ground, Randhawa asked Khaira, to explain the amount of money he collected from the United States where he went, first as a Congressman and then as an AAP leader. “Let us know whether you deposited that money in the respective party accounts or got it for yourself through hawala channels”, he wanted to know from Khaira.
