Hundreds of Indian students facing ‘deportation’ from Canada stage protest
Chandigarh, July 3 – Former minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) senior vice president Dr Daljit Singh Cheema has served a legal notice to Ropar Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator Amarjit Singh Sandoa to recant the malicious allegations leveled by him on social media within one week or else face a criminal defamation suit.
The legal notice was served on Sandoa today by advocates Arshdeep Singh Kler and Bhavish G Rauni on the former SAD minister’s behalf. In case the AAP legislator does not withdraw his allegations besides tendering a public apology criminal defamation proceedings will be initiated against him under section 499/500/501 of Indian Penal Code besides civil action for torturous liability.
The AAP legislator had leveled false and malicious allegations against Dr Daljit Cheema on social media through a video on June 24.
