Captain should not judge others from his own experiences-Shiromani AKali Dal

Chandigarh : The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today said Punjab Congress president Captain Amrinder Singh should not judge others from his own experience as he was himself known to have stashed monies and properties abroad during his tenure as chief minister of the State.

Stating that truth was bitter, SAD general secretary Maheshinder Singh Grewal said this was not all. You are also known to own flats in Dubai. “You are also fond of taking your Pakistani friends with you during your trips abroad as was seen recently also”.

The Akali leader said the truth of the matter was that Amarinder’s frustration was showing. “You have always projected yourself as a popular leader. Your popularity myth was busted during your North America trip when you were shunned by Punjabis. The NRIs even threw shoes and bottles at you and you had to virtually flee before their assault. This obviously has embittered you and you are now raving in frustration”, he added.

Throwing a challenge on the former Chief Minister to draw a comparison between development which had occurred during his rule vis a vis the SAD-BJP government, Mr Grewal said the Congress was raking up imaginary issues after failing to debate developmental issues. He said the SAS haD repeatedly asked the Congress to discuss development but in reply the CLP leader could only recount laying of road patches as the major development done by Amrinder during his tenure as chief minister.

Mr Grewal said Punjab had been made power surplus and was witnessing record growth in basic infrastructure required to put the development of the state on fast track. The success stories of Invest Punjab Summits and Invest Punjab bureau were there for all to see, he added.
