Campaign to strengthen Punjab Mahila Congress to begin from December 13

Chandigarh, The newly appointed Punjab Mahila Congress chief Kittu Grewal and state in-charge Nita D’suza would tour the state to select new office bearers of the organisation.

They announced this here today at a news conference saying the list would not be prepared while sitting in the office. This campaign would start from December 13 under which camps would be organised at all district headquarters in the state by January end.

This would be followed by a 3-day camp at the party headquarters in Chandigarh. The new team would be announced after this process was over.

It is for the first time that such a procedure is being followed.

The state in-charge dismissed the reports of opposition to Kittu saying this was routine in political parties.

On the other hand, Kittu’s opponents including Harsimratjit Kaur, Pinki Bhatia, Kusum Sharma, Meenaxi Verma, and Ranjot Kaur alleged that the only qualification of Kittu was that she had allowed the party to convert her field near Jalandhar to be converted into helipad for the landing of Rahul Gandhi’s helicopter. They said the party high command had not woken up from the slumber even after the defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. in case no remedial steps were taken, the situation would worsen.

They announced that Kittu and Nita would be opposed wherever they go in the state.

Kittu, on the other hand, denied such charges.
