Hundreds of Indian students facing ‘deportation’ from Canada stage protest
Chandigarh, April 8- Senior Congress leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal has lambasted AAP for supporting Haryana on the SYL issue during the hearing in the Supreme Court today.
In an affidavit submitted to the apex court, the Delhi government clearly stated that the Kejriwal government supported Haryana on the waters issue and that Punjab cannot stop water to neighboring state.
Mrs Bhattal said now the cat has come out of the bag and the Delhi government’s stand on SYL has exposed the double speak of the AAP leadership. She said earlier, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had supported the Punjab stand on SYL, holding that Punjab had no water to spare for other states. However, today in the Supreme Court, his government has taken a contrary stand. That showed AAP had no specific stand on the SYL issue.
Mrs Bhattal also said she had warned earlier that since Kejriwal belonged to Haryana, he would not protect Punjab interests on waters. ‘My prediction has come true,’’ she concluded.
