BHARGAVA UNDERSCORES NEED TO INCULCATE SPIRIT OF NATIONALISM AMONGST YOUTH

IMG_0584dxcdChandigarh: Annual get-together of Punjab Irrigation Retired Engineers Association was held here today at Engineers Bhawan, Sector 19A, Chandigarh. Sh. K.D. Vasudeva, IAS (Retd.) Former Chief Secretary, Punjab was the Chief Guest.

Er. K.L. Bhargava, Association President highlighted the achievements made by its wing “National Forum For Youth Welfare” by submitting proposals to the central and state governments regarding inculcating the spirit of nationalism among the youth, increasing efficiency in government departments and harnessing youth power by imparting multipurpose training to make them employable.

Dr. R.P. Bhardwaj, Chairman of the forum stressed the need for judicious use of water, electricity, fuel and avoiding wastages.

Principal S. Chaudhary stressed the need to attach due importance to inculcate discipline, punctuality and spirit of nationalism among students in addition to skill development being imparted to them by the government. This will help in eliminating recurrence of ugly happenings.

Er. Narinder Sharma, Retd. Chief Engineer (Irrigation) dwelt on the need of training the youth for creating a youth disaster management brigade by employing them and giving them multipurpose training to tackle natural disasters like floods, fires, earth-quakes etc.

Sh. K.D. Vasudeva while summing up lauded the role of retired engineers in mobilising the intelligentsia and eminent professionals of various walks of life for formulating and submitting proposals to the central govt.

Meanwhile, Prof. K.N. Pathak Former Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Sh. A.C. Sharma, IAS (Retd.), S. Gurnam Singh Former Director Finance, Punjab Govt., also took part in the deliberations.
