Hundreds of Indian students facing ‘deportation’ from Canada stage protest
CHANDIGARH, DECEMBER 8: After examining the complaints regarding non-filing of nomination papers for Nagar Panchayat Mallanwala Khas, the State Election Commission today issued an order to provide an additional day of tomorrow i.e. December 8, 2017 to aspiring candidates for filing nominations.
According to an official spokesperson, the Commission had stopped the election process till further orders in view of complaints received on the last day of nominations from Mallanwala Khas and Makhu in Ferozepur district, Bagha Purana in Moga and Ghanaur of Patiala districts. After thoroughly examined these complaints, the Commission ordered to continue the election process in Makhu, Ghanaur and Baghapurana, he added.
The Spokesperson further said that the election process Mallanwala Khas had been separated from the entire election process in the state and provided an additional day of December 8, 2017 for filing of papers for contenders. The scrutiny of papers would be held on December 11, 2017 i.e. Monday for Mallanwala Khas and the voting will take place on December 20, 2017 along counting on same day.
