Amarinder announces Punjab Jago campaign

Chandigarh, February 22: Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh is out to change the campaign style to compete with the Aam Aadmi Party’s tactics of mobilizing people and as a first step, he today announced the launching of Punjab Jago campaign to rope in people upto booth level. It is the National Students Union of India, party’s students wing, that has been entrusted with the main responsibility.

This volunteer corps would work in cooperation and coordination with leaders at the district level, including MLAs.

Addressing a news conference here, he said volunteers had been trained for the job who would go to the people to understand their problems and concerns.

It may be mentioned that AAP has already put in place its organizational set up upto booth level.

Based upon the feedback, the issues that come up at the district level would be included in party’s manifesto.

Those present included Gobind Khatra who is to coordinate the campaign and Barinder Singh Dhillon, Jaspreet Bhaika and Pushpinder Singh Sekhon.
