The MLA from Talwandi Sabo, Prof. Baljinder Kaur on Tuesday condemned the allegations of opponents of indulging into her involvement in illegal activity of ‘Gunda Tax’ and dared govt. to mark an inquiry in this regard. She said that it is nothing but an attempt of Congress-Akali leaders to tarnish her image. In a statement issued in media, Prof. Baljinder said that it is unusual and funny to see that rather than asking govt. to inquire the matter, Congress leaders are accusing her without any proof.
Prof. Baljinder said that the actual motive of the allegations is to divert attention of people from allegations leveled by gangsters and their families against Congress and Akali leaders. She said that finding no excuse in their leaders Avtar Henry and Parminder Singh Dhindsa’s involvement in promoting gang culture in Punjab, these parties are now dragging leaders of AAP in these cases. She said that she was the first leader who had written a letter to CM to crack down Gunda Tax going on in the state and demands that an all party vidhan sabha committee must be formed to look into these cases. She said that AAP leader and LOP Sukhpal Singh has already asked the vidhan sabha speaker to form a committee.
