Chandigarh 17-10-15: The Punjab Government should take back all the cases registered during the recent farmers agitation with immediate effect. In a joint statement issued here, Punjab Congress MLA”s S Parminder Singh Pinki, S Ajit inder Singh Mofar, Sh Rakesh Pandey, Sh Surinder Daavar, S Gurkirat Singh kotli, S. Navtej Cheema and Sh. Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that the cases registered against the farmers sitting peacefully on the protests should be taken back without any conditions. The Punjab government is acting like Aurangzeb rule in the state, where in the police uses brutal force on the innocent farmers and then registers false cases on them.
Showing solidarity with S Ravnit Singh Bittu, MP, whose present judicial custody was today extended till 31st of this month by the Bhatinda local court, the MLA” s said very soon we will approach the Honorable Governor of Punjab for cancellation of all the cases registered against the sitting MP S Ravnit Singh Bittu. They further said that S Ravnit Bittu has done everything for the sake of the farmers of the Punjab. He is elected representative of the Loksabha, it was his duty to raise the issue related to the farmers of Punjab, which he did. The farmers of Punjab are sitting on the roads and streets of the Punjab due to negligence of the union and the state government. Already the farmer suicides have sharply risen in Punjab, the debt on the farmers has also multiplied. The present Modi-Badal government is proposing to go away with the MSP regime and dismantling the FCI where will the farmer of the state go? The recent damage of cotton crop in the pesticide scam, non payment of sugarcane farmers and even the farm labours is also a blot on the face of Modi and Badals who are claiming falsely with the upcoming investment summit.
Lambasting on the Home Minister S Sukhbir Singh Badal, for not allowing to meet the former minister of Home State GOI ( Dr Sahkeel Ahmed) with S Ravnit Singh Bittu yesterday in the Bhatinda jail, the congress MLA”s said that this shows the administrative hold of this present government and how deep roots they have in day today functioning of the offices, they don’t allow to meet the elected representative of the people who is an sitting Member Of Parliament. Even the basic facilities, which need to be provided to the sitting MP as per jail manuals, are being denied to Bittu. This is the government who can go to any extend to keep the mouth of the people of Punjab shut.
