AAP stand by the victim family to get justice

Sucha-chhotepur-and-Surinder-KaurMohali, May 6: Raising serious questions over the death of village Chaumajra resident Jagbir Singh Jaggu (21) in police custody, Aam Aadmi Party today demanded a fresh inquiry in the case. The party alleged that the case is related to the death in police custody and need to be investigated.

In a press statement issued by party on Thursday, AAP Punjab Convener, Sucha Singh Chhotepur and women wing joint secretary, Surinder Kaur said that the role of the police is under scanner in the case. The leaders said that the family of the victim has alleged that Jaggu has died due to the police torture and his body was hanged on a tree few meters away from the police station. The police had tried to convert the case of custodial death into suicide.

Chhotepur said that the family of the victim has many proofs that there were bruises on the lower limbs of the victim, which shows that the police had beaten up Jaggu to death. He said that the employer of the victim, Rajpal Walia and police are equally responsible for the death of Jaggu.

Surinder said that as per the family statement the argument between jaggu and his employer took place over the issue of money matter, after the argument employer brought jaggu to the police station. The police, on the instruction of his employer had beaten up Jaggu to an extent that he died in the police station.

Chhotepur said that later after the prissier from the family and villagers, police registered a case of abetment to suicide on employer to defense to save their skin. He said that AAP will stage protest against the police if the victim family was not provided justice. He assured the family that AAOP will stand by the victim family in any situation.
