2 Army jawans, 4 militants killed in Kashmir encounter

Anantnag, Four unidentified militants, two Army jawans and a civilian were killed during a gunfight in Frisal area of Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday morning.

Three jawans were also injured during the gunfight.
A youth was killed and 15 people were injured in clashes that followed the gunfight.

An Army spokesperson confirmed that two Army men and four militants were killed.

“Three soldiers have also been injured, and have been airlifted to an Army hospital in Srinagar. Four AK-47 rifles have been recovered from the site of the encounter,” the spokesperson said.
The identity of the slain soldiers could not be ascertained immediately, he said, adding that a combing operation is still under way.
While the police said the identity of the slain militants is being established, sources said all of them were locals and associated with a militant group, Hizbul Mujahideen.
There were reports of intense clashes in the area after the news about the killing of four militants spread.
