BJP leader, 2 others booked for farmer’s death
Chandigarh January 27: Chief Electoral Officer, Mr. V.K.Singh said that as many as eight candidates have filed their nomination papers on the last day of filing of the nominations for the bypoll announced for Khadur Sahib Constituency. It may be mentioned here that with today’s nomination papers filed, the number of total candidates who have filed their papers is finally ten.
Giving details of all the ten candidates who filed the nomination papers, Mr. Singh said that, Mr. Ravinder Singh Brahmpura representing Shiromani Akali Dal and Ravinder Kaur as his covering candidate have filed the papers. Mr. Sukhdev Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Baldeep Singh, Ajit Singh Saini, Surmail Singh, Harjeet Singh and Anantjit Singh Sandhu have also filed the nomination papers as Independent candidates. Mr. Puran Singh representing Bahujan Samaj Party (Ambedkar) has also filed the nomination papers today.
Mr. Singh further said that the scrutiny of nominations would be done on January 28, 2016 and the last date for withdrawing the nominations would be onJanuary 30, 2016.
