Chandigarh, September 13 : The Shiromani Akali Dal President Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal has called a meeting of the Core Committee of the party on September 18th at 4.00 pm at party head office in Chandigarh to discuss preparation for Gurdaspur bye poll and prevalent political situation in the state.
In a statement released from the party head office here today, the SAD Secretary and Spokesman Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that meeting will deliberate on strategy to be adopted for the poll, preparations and duties to be assigned to leaders of different districts. He said that after the meeting party leadership will meet senior leaders of the Bhartiya Janta Party to finalize proposals in this regard. He further disclosed that S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today met senior leaders Bikram Singh Majithia, Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Nirmal Singh Kahlon, Sucha Singh Langah, Gurcharan Singh Babehali, Lakhbir Singh Lodhinangal and Jagroop Singh Sekhwan to discuss issues related to Gurdaspur bye poll.
Dr. Cheema also said that party President Mr. Badal will address meetings of leaders and workers of different assembly segments falling in Gurdaspur Parliamentary Constituency on September 21th and 23rd. He said that on September 21, S. Badal will address first meeting at Fatehgarh Churian assembly segment at 12 pm, followed by meeting at Dera Baba Nanak segment at 2 pm and Batala at 4 pm. He said that on September 23 Mr. Badal will address leaders and workers of Kadian assembly segment at Kahnoowan at 12 pm, followed by meeting at Gurdaspur at 2 pm and Dinanagar at 4 pm.
