Xiaomi has teased the arrival of its MIUI 13 operating system in India, less than a week after the company confirmed that the update will be available to global models outside of China. On February 9, Xiaomi will unveil the Redmi Note 11, Redmi Note 11S, and Redmi Smart Band Pro in India. Xiaomi may also unveil MIUI 13 for Indian consumers and provide the MIUI 13 rollout schedule for the country’s device lineup. MIUI 13 improves performance, brings new live wallpapers, new widgets and new algorithms for better system resource management, multitasking, and battery life as well. Xiaomi has yet to reveal which smartphones in India will receive the MIUI 13 update.

The company shared a poster with older MIUI numerals on smartphone screens with the caption “It’s 13 o’clock! Guess what’s coming?” on Tuesday. Xiaomi announced last week that the first wave of smartphones had started receiving the MIUI 13 update as part of the global rollout. The company revealed at the time that Indian models were not included in those updates.

MIUI 13 Global introduces a slew of new features under the hood, including Focused Algorithms, Liquid Storage, Atomized Memory, and Smart Balance. According to the company, these elements assure a smooth performance and user experience even after two years of use.

MIUI 13 also includes a new sidebar that launches apps directly in a floating window. Xiaomi has also included brand-new widgets to MIUI 13 Global, however, these are region-specific. So, for the time being, we don’t know whether the MIUI 13 Indian ROM will include Widgets.

Xiaomi is yet to launch the MIUI 13 Pilot testing programme in India, but we can expect the firm to release a detailed rollout timeline and launch the pilot testing programme shortly after the MIUI 13 India announcement.

To cater to its large user base in India, Xiaomi recently launched a new app called Xiaomi Service+, which will allow users to submit grievances and receive service and assistance from Xiaomi in India.
