Won’t relent till Sukhbir booked: Activists

moga1Moga, Activists of the BKU (Ekta), Punjab Khet Mazdoor Union, Naujwan Bharat Sabha and several other organisations continued their protest outside the police station at Baghapurana in the district for the second consecutive day today.
They demanded registration of a criminal case against Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal. They alleged he was equally responsible for the Moga bus molestation case where a 13-year-old girl was molested and thrown out of a moving bus owned by Orbit Aviation of the Badals.
Joginder Singh Ugrahan, president, and Sukhdev Singh Kokri, general secretary, BKU; Pawel Kussa, president, Naujwan Bharat Sabha; and Zora Singh, president, Punjab Khet Mazdoor Union, said no action was taken against Sukhbir just because he was the Home Minister.
“Nobody is above law. The police are meant to protect the public and not to please their political masters,” Kokri said.
Raising slogans against Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his deputy, the protesters alleged both were shielding criminals. Punjab had already witnessed many crimes involving Akali workers and staff of private buses, they alleged.
Kokri claimed that 24 trade unions and social organisations had extended support to them to carry on the agitation until the owners of Orbit Aviation were booked. He announced to stage protests outside the DC offices across the state on May 12.
