CHANDIGARH, OCTOBER 29: Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Department has framed an ambitious policy to provide self employment to alteast 55 youngsters from each district, at their doorsteps in the field of dairy farming.
It was disclosed by Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister in a press communiqué released here today. He said that that we will encourage the youth to opt for dairy farming which has plenty of scope to flourish and earn sizeable income with less input cost. He said working in this direction, the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Department would commence a training programme from November 12, 2018 to impart the training to the dairy farmers on various new techniques prevalent worldwide in the field of dairy farming. He said that this training would be given at all the Dairy Training and Development Centres . Training module would cover the topics like how to increase the milk production with less input cost, latest available machinery and technology and its usage, modern marketing techniques to sell milk. Mr. Sidhu said that dairy farming is profitable occupation and the Punjab Government is giving 25 to 33 per cent subsidy on the purchase of Milch animals, purchase of milking machines and on the purchase of machinery to make various milk products at the village level.
Divulging the detail of the training schedule, Mr. Sidhu said that this four week training would be commenced at Dairy Training and Development Centre, Bija (Ludhiana), Chatamali (Ropar), Gill (Moga), Abul Khuran (Sri Mukatsar Sahib), Sardulgarh (Mansa), Phagwara (Kapurthala) and Verka (Amritsar). He said that to select the candidates for this training counseling would be conducted at respective training centres from November 1, 2018 at 10 a.m. He said that any person (boy or girl) of the age of 18 to 45 years having minimum matriculation qualification and who is having his/her own farm of minimum 5 milch animals can apply for this training.
