* Says sorting out people’s plaints in sangat darshan foremost duty
Dhuri (Sangrur), Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today called Punjabis to give befitting and effective reply to Congress Party for its ongoing divisive and anti-Punjab agenda. Attempts of Congress to stall the development projects of Punjab would not be tolerated and state’s development would be accelerated further, stated by Chief Minister while resolving public plaints on concluding day of Sangat Darshan program here on Thursday.
On the issue of former CM Rajinder Kaur Bhattal’s proposed move to Election Commission against the Sangat Darshans, Mr. Badal said that neither the congress leaders have anything to do with the development of the state nor they were aware of law of the land. He said sorting out public grievances in by reaching their doorsteps was his foremost duty and he was committed to all round development of the state besides providing ensuring delivery of basic amenities as ground level to uplift the living standard of common masses. He said whenever the SAD-BJP combine took reins of state they tried their best to witness healthy and active participation of common masses in the development of state. Mr. Badal said they have never made those promises, which were outside the ambit of possibilities. He said it is the fact that Sangat Darshan programs have exclusively recognised and left a separate identity to redress grievances.
Commenting upon Congress Party’s opposition to Sangat Darshan, Mr. Badal said our opponents advocated policies of divisiveness and sectarian interests besides mocking our social and pro-people agenda. He said understanding anti Punjab and development stance of Congress the people of Punjab had shown the door to it in previous assembly polls. He said now the congress party was facing a severe infighting but the SAD-BJP is fully committed to take state to the new heights of success.
Answering a query regarding not inviting local MP Mr. Bhagwant Mann in Sangat Darshan program in Benra village, Mr. Badal said he never invited anyone to such program but he, himself, visited villages of Punjab to address public issues. He said during Sangat Darshan anyone can come with their issues and Panchayats could get financial assistance for development purposes.
Answering a question regarding Delhi Polls, the Chief Minister said SAD-BJP was contesting the elections in alliance and the alliance would definitely witness unprecedented victory as the wave was in favour of SAD-BJP. He said Delhi residents trust in the working of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi as well as the functioning of NDA government at center. He said the national capital would also take phenomenal development strides after formation of SAD-BJP government.
When asked about the canvassing being initiated by former MP and BJP leader Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu, Mr. Badal said former is like my son and he can canvass for SAD-BJP candidates anywhere in Delhi.
Mr. Badal also informed that Punjab has started strengthening, widening and revamping of drains and rivulets in entire state. He said under this scheme Rs. 35.12 crore would be expended on 37 villages of Dhuri constituency for this purpose. He said in this program 90 percent share would be given by government while the remaining to be deposited by peasantries.
Prominent amongst those present in the sangat darshan included Finance Minister Mr. Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Special Principal Secretary to CM Mr. KJS Cheema, Constituency incharge Mr. Gobind Singh Longowal, former minister Mr. Gobind Singh Kanjhla, Mr. Rajinder Singh Kanjhla, Mr. Amanveer Singh Cherry, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Bhalwan, Member SGPC, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Arshdeep Singh Thind, DIG Patiala Mr. Shiv Kumar Verma, SSP Mr. Mandeep Singh Sidhu and senior officers of various departments.
