Why SAD clinging to those playing havoc with interests of Punjab: Randhawa

Chandigarh, October 2: The senior congress leader and Cabinet Minister, Punjab, S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has come down heavily on the notification of the Union Government lowering the share of Punjab in the matter of postings of officers in the Chandigarh Administration and said that the alliance partner of the BJP led government, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) owes an explanation to the people of Punjab on this issue of grave sensitivity.

Launching a scathing attack on the SAD as well as the Central and State leadership of the BJP, S. Randhawa said that it was decided that Punjab’s share in the postings of officers in Chandigarh would be 60 percent and now that is being tinkered with by the Union Government and what is turning the situation into a more perplexed one is the stony silence being maintained by the SAD and it’s partner in arms the BJP.

Taking the attack right into the SAD ranks, the Congress leader said that this is not the only case of blatant and naked discrimination against Punjab but a devious gameplan is also underway to diminish the status of Punjabi language in Chandigarh courtesy slow poison mode. Why the SAD is not questioning these anti Punjab moves perpetrated by the Union Government.

Further upping the ante, S. Randhawa said that the SAD choosing to keep mum over the issue is strengthening the belief that it was party to this blunder of huge proportions and if it’s not then what is holding it back from directing the Union Minister Harsimrat Badal to resign in protest or is it the case that clinging to power overlooking Punjab’s interests has become a norm with the party.

Daring SAD to come out clean on the issue, S. Randhawa said that the real face of the party has already been exposed before the people of Punjab after the coming out of Justice Ranjit Singh commission report and if it has left even a little bit of self respect then it must severe all ties at once with the BJP otherwise the belief would only be strengthened that the both parties are partners in crime of wreaking havoc on the interests of Punjab.
