Chandigarh: 8.8.2015: Reacting sharply to the statement of Union Minister for Food Processing and wife of Punjab’s Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, who had demanded that Punjab BJP chief Kamal Sharma should resign from his post since his personal assistant had been named in a corruption case, S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, MLA Dera Baba Nanak questioned her that before seeking resignation from Sharma, she should seek resignation from her own brother, Bikram Singh Majithia.
Randhawa said that name of Majithia has cropped up many times and Jagdish Bhola had personally named him. How can you deny close association of your brother with Jagdish Bhola, Satta, Jagjit Chahal and Bittu Aulakh who are main accused in the drug racket? Randhawa said that just because Majithia is your brother, you are going to all extent to shield him including in the probe of ED.
He also reminded Harsimrat Badal that Smt Navjot Kaur Sidhu had levelled very serious allegations on Majithia. She has termed Majithia as the “Master Mind of Gangsters”. Why dint you seek resignation from your brother after such grave allegations levied by your alliance partner leader, Randhawa questioned.
Randhawa said that this is a classic example of Political hypocrisy and Acute Selective Blindness. Dridhrashtra was so much blinded by the love for his son that he got his empire destroyed.
The Dera Baba Nanak MLA questioned the Union Minister that what has she done for Punjab? As per the Assocham report, investments into Punjab have decreased by 93% in last 8 years. This is a matter of concern. Shouldn’t you also quit on moral grounds for having failed to bring any investment into Punjab?
Randhawa also expressed deep sympathies to S. Parkash Singh Badal who is unable to take any decision on political matters. He is just passing his time by doing fruitless Sangat Darshans he said.
Randhawa said that the decade of terrorism period was a dark period in the History of Punjab. But he said that when history will be written after few decades, the current rule of Badal will be recorded as the darkest period in which an entire generation was wiped out due to drugs, rule of mafia, shattered economy, farmers committing suicides.
