Indian team’s preparation for T20 World Cup 2024 will kick start with the ongoing five-match T20I series against Australia and a three-match T20I series against South Africa on South African soil in December.
Although many Indian players from ODI WC 2023 aren’t part of the ongoing T20I series, here in this article, we can see who could be part of the T20 World Cup 2024.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli – It’s been reported that BCCI has given complete freedom to these cricketing superstars to decide their future on whether to play T20 WC 2024 (or) not. Hence, these two may consider themselves to play the upcoming T20 World Cup event for one last time.
KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishan Kishan, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav – These nine players are expected to be part of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 unless they get injured (or) become unfit.
Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur – These four players’ selection majorly depends on their field performances in the IPL 2024 and other key series as other players like Arshdeep Singh are also very much in contention.
Ravichandran Ashwin isn’t expected to feature in T20 World Cup 2024 considering his age factor and notably, he hasn’t featured much in white-ball cricket after T20 World Cup 2022.
