We’re committed to empowering women: Sidhu

Chandigarh, “The state government is fully committed to giving women a place of honour and dignity in society. Their empowerment across all spheres is an article of faith with the government,” said Navjot Singh Sidhu, Local Government, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister.
He said this here today while inaugurating a photo exhibition on ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ organised by the Photojournalists Welfare Association.
Sidhu said the state government has given 50 per cent reservation to them in local bodies and municipal council/nagar panchayats besides according them 33 per cent reservation in jobs.
