New Delhi: Swashbuckling batsman Virat Kohli had struggled a lot during the recent England tour, Kohli’s batting performance was completely lackluster. He was repeatedly seen falling to deliveries outside the off stump, mostly getting caught out at off sides. He had just managed one half century during the entire tour.
In order to revise his failure in the England series. Kohli has headed to Mumbai to correct his flaws and to get complete guidance from ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar.
Kohli is now undergoing intense batting practice under Tendulkar’s guidance, who keeps on observing everything from the umpire’s position and from the adjoining pitch, and gives quick advice to the young batsmen on where he is faltering.
The 26-year-old star cricketer is working hard under the watchful eyes of the former batting great at the Mumbai Cricket Association’s (MCA) indoor training facility. Lalchand Rajput, who is the batting coach of Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) special academy, is also present at the complex where Kohli is training rigorously.
Reportedly Kohli was mentored by Tendulkar on Thursday at the Mumbai Cricket Association’s indoor facility for a couple of hours. “Virat was here for an intense session today. Sachin was present too. He is going to come in for practice over the next two-three days as well,” newspaper Hindustan Times was told by Lalchand Rajput.
