VIGILANCE NABS ASSISTANT LINEMAN TAKING BRIBE

Chandigarh, State Vigilance Bureau today nabbed an assistant lineman of PSPCL red handed taking bribe of Rs. 12000/-.

Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Sarup Singh assistant lineman posted at PSPCL office Sabhran in Tarn Taran district was nabbed on the complaint of Amarjit Singh of village Sabhran in Tarn Taran. The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above named lineman was demanding Rs. 12000/- to install a new tubewell connection on his agriculture land.

After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the lineman was nabbed on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs.12,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

He informed that the case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Amritsar and further investigation was under progress.
