LAUDING THE bravery and prompt action of the Punjab Police in the gruesome terror attack at Dina Nagar on Monday, the Union Food Processing Industry Minister, Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal today described the success of Punjab police operation against terrorists as “a victory for the nation”.
In a press release issued here today, Mrs. Badal stated that during a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi strongly condemned the ghastly attack on innocent people and termed it as an attack on the nation. The Prime Minister hailed the exemplary valor and patriotic fervour displayed by the Punjab Police and Security personnel in dealing with the terrorists,” she said.
Saluting the police personnel, who laid down their lives for the nation, Mrs. Badal described them as martyrs to the cause of peace and patriotism, which will prove a foremost gain for peace and communal harmony in the state.
Offering condolences to the family of the people killed in the attack, Mrs. Badal said,” Gurdaspur Terror attack is highly condemnable. Condolences to families of brave Punjab Police & Security personnel & civilians who sacrificed their lives,”.
Expressing her deep sense of concern, Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal said that with its courageous and highly professional conduct, the Punjab Police led by the Punjab DGP and security forces succeeded in limiting the magnitude of the damage and pre-emptying a big tragedy.
Hailing the exemplary courage and patriotic fervor displayed by the police personnel, the Union Minister especially praised the acts of patriotic bravery displayed by Mr. Baljit Singh, the SP (Detective) Gurdaspur and other members of the police and home guards team.
The Union Minister also had a special word of praise for the bravery and quick response of Bus Driver Nanak Chand and Railway Personnel , who had saved several life’s by their presence of mind. Besides she had a special word of praise for the unflinching support and cooperation given by the people of Dina Nagar during this operation. She also expressed her heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families and assured all help to the victims.
Mrs. Badal affirmed that Punjab would not allow terrorism to raise its head in the state again and vowed to thwart nefarious designs of anti-national forces, who were trying to disturb hard earned peace on the orders of their political masters in Pakistan. She affirmed that the hard earned communal harmony and law & order situation would be maintained at any cost in the state.
Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal also strongly criticized Amritsar Member Parliament and Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and other Congress leaders, who were trying to politicize such a sensitive issue for their vested political interests.
