Deepinder undertakes whirlwind tour of Punjab, campaigns for President PYC
Chandigarh: 03-08-15: The enormous figure of unemployment among the youth of Punjab has crossed 75 lacs in the last eight years of ShiromaniAkali Dal and BJP rule. Lambasting on the Government of Punjab, S Deepinder Singh Randhawa, president Candidate for Punjab youth congress, today said that tall claims by Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal for providing jobs to lakhs of unemployed youth is not only a white lie but great mischief with the youth waiting for jobs including those belonging to reserved categories, the SCs and BCs. It had became a fashion among members of Badal family, mainly Chief Minister and his son Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal to make false statements and then push in false advertising campaign to make people believe their falsehood.
DeepinderRandhawa further said that ShiromaniAkaliDal(SAD) the main partner in the alliance government had in its manifesto for 2007-12 had promised to fill 1.50 lakh vacancies and 10 lakh jobs were promised in 2012-17 election manifesto. Particularly the unemployed youth of Majha, Malwa and Doaba regions was given false hope that One lakh jobs would be generated in IT sector by developing IT hub. The real picture revealed its self by the Job Generation and training department was slap on the face of SAD-BJP government, he added.
S DeepinderRandhawa said that about 75 lakh youth were unemployed in Punjab and number is adding up every year. The official data on employment generationhas revealed that the employment rate in Punjab was just at an average of 5 to 6 percent since the time SAD-BJP government took over in 2007. The figure is more worse in case of reserved categories.
Deepinderasked the Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal to clarify government stand on it and stop befooling people by holding Progressive Punjab Investment Summit or issuing fake propaganda of giving jobs to lakhs of youth. He said that Congress party would expose all the misdeeds of SAD-BJP government. He said that the unemployed youth was promised Rs.1000 per month unemployed youth. This promise remained unfulfilled.
DeepinderRandhawa, who is nominee for the President Punjab Youth Congress, is on Punjab tour to assess the ground level situation of the youth of Punjab, and see the other problems faced by the common public. He said that the youth of Punjab is fascinated by the way Congress Vice president Sh. Rahul Gandhi has evolved a democratic system of elections which is giving them a open chance to apply then perform and then get elected into the active political system. Inspite of the interference of the ruling government in the membership drive of youth congress, we managed to get 2.80 lacs membership done. The youth of Punjab are fed up from the policies of the state government as nothing has been done to fulfill their manifesto promises free education to poor children, provision of laptops, unemployment allowance of Rs 1000/- per month, 10 new jobs in the government and public sector etc….
