Toronto:Toronto Public Health says it has issued a heat alert for the city, urging the elderly, small children and those with illnesses that react negatively to heat to stay indoors.
Temperatures will rise to at least 32 C this afternoon, with very high humidity levels and barely any wind.
Environment Canada issued a heat warning for all of southern Ontario this morning, claiming humidity may make it feel like 40 C in places.
Toronto public health advises residents to drink lots of cool water, stay in air-conditioned places, and avoid going outdoors during peak heat periods in the middle of the day.
