Three Brampton schools under hold-and-secures after man spotted with firearm in park

Brampton, Three Brampton schools are under hold-and-secure orders after a group of students reported seeing a man with a firearm at a nearby park, police say.

According to Peel police, the children were at the Heart Lake Conservation Area near Kennedy Road and Sandalwood Parkway when they spotted the man at around 12:50 p.m.

Police say the children then ran to nearby Robert H Lagerquist Sr. Public School to get help.

It is not known if the children are students at the school.

Tactical officers are currently searching the area for the man.

Robert H Lagerquist Sr. Public School, Sacred Heart Separate School and Terry Fox Public School are affected by the hold-and-secure orders.
