Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Patiala , November 7, 2015: The outburst of Mr. Parkash Singh Badal Chief Minister Punjab, disparaging the well orchestrated and thoroughly planned visit of Sh. Rahul Gandhi to traumatized Malwa Region of Punjab on 5th & 6thNovember, is nothing but the hollow expression of his frustrated mind. The visit has obviously unnerved the entire SAD leadership and the ruling family of Badals find themselves on the back foot. Rahul Gandhi has scored a moral victory against Badals, who could not dare to visit neither Bargadi where Guru Granth Sahib was desecrated nor the families of the youth who were killed in the police firing, while protesting against the sacrilege of the Holy Guru Granth Sahib. They failed to muster courage to share the hurt sentiments of the Sikhs and also the grieving families of the two youth- Gurjit Singh of Sarawan village and Kishan Bhagwan Singh of Behbal Kalan village in Faridkot . On the other hand Rahul Gandhi Vice President of the AICC reached Gurjit’s house around 8.30 on 5th of November in the morning and spent time with the family sharing their grief. He then moved on to Gurusar, Behbal Kalan and Niamiwala villages covering the distance of almost 9-km by foot. He expressed solidarity with the sufferings of the farmers of the ‘cotton belt’ of Punjab who lost their cotton crop due to the distribution of the spurious pesticides supplied by the Agriculture Department of the Government of Punjab, besides interacting with the families of the farmers who’s bread winners have committed suicides due to the colossal loss of the cotton crop and assured them all possible help to get them out of the depressing debt burden.
Sh. Rahul Gandhi also successfully managed to showcase the unity of the Punjab Congress as he brought all the leaders of the warring factions on the board, as one cohesive unit of the Punjab Congress and thus ushering in a new era of enthusiasm and political vigor to fight the forthcoming assembly elections with greater cohesion . He has also put the beleaguered Congress on the fast forward election mode at a time when SAD top leadership including father son duo are facing unprecedented revolt of the Sikh community against their leadership for demeaning the the Sikh values.
The commendable feature of the cautiously planned visit of Sh. Rahul Gandhi to Punjab was that the core team of Sh. Rahul Gandhi has meticulously taken care of every aspect of the Sikh sensibility and the emotions of farmers psyche with great degree of precision so that his visit should have soothing impact and nowhere loses the sight of positivity.
