Tandon, Ghosal reach semifinals, Harinderpal loses

Mumbai: Wild card entrant Ramit Tandon caused a sensational upset in the CCI International-JSW Indian Squash Circuit when he knocked out top seed Borja Golan of Spain 3-2 to enter the semifinals today. Tandon, with a low world ranking of 201, toppled world No. 18 Golan in an 89-minute gruelling duel. Tandon won 11-8 7-11 6-11 11-6 11-8.
Third seed and India No. 1 Saurav Ghosal defeated Joel Makin of Wales 11-6 11-8 6-11 11-2 to join Tandon in the last four.
Late in the evening, second seed Omar Mosaad rallied brilliantly from 0-2 down to get past qualifier Harinderpal Singh Sandhu. The Egyptian won 6-11 10-12 11-2 11-8 11-2 in 71 minutes to reach the last four.
