Muktsar, A day after a fierce protest by Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu in Bathinda, Indian Youth Congress chief and Gidderbaha MLA Amrinder Singh Raja Warring along with his supporters today locked the administrative block of the District Administrative Complex (DAC) here today. They were seeking action against Agriculture Minister Tota Singh and some officials in the pesticide scam.
During the protest, a minor scuffle broke out between the police and protesting Congressmen at the entrance of the complex. The police also resorted to mild cane-charge. Despite this, the protesters managed to reach the entrance of the administrative block and locked it from outside. They sought the resignation of Tota Singh, blaming him for the alleged pesticide purchase scam.
Warring said: “We locked the administrative complex as a symbolic protest. We did not cause any damage to the public or private property.”
