Sukhbir’s south tour to put Punjab on the path of accelerated industrialisation : Dhillon

Chandigarh, Mr Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Irrigation minister, Punjab, today described the four-day visit of Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal, president, Shiromani Akali Dal and Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab, as game changer for the industrial scenario of Punjab as he has been able to secure committed investments of thousands of crores within four days.

In a statement issued here today, Mr Dhillon said that Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal was the only Deputy CM of the country who was personally going to the industrialists to seek investments as per the new relaxed single window industrial policy of the state.

Describing Deputy CM as messiah of governance reforms, who by abolishing affidavits Mr Badal forced every state and union government to follow his footsteps. He said that after scripting and implementing innovative and people centric policies and programmes in the area of industry, commerce, civil aviation, road connectivity, health, tourism, education and agriculture and making Punjab first power surplus state of the country, the Deputy CM has caught the fancy of top industrialists who during his southern tour vied with each other to invest in Punjab.

 

He said that right from BSA cycles, Apollo Hospitals, GMR Group, GVK group, Nuziveedu Seeds, every industrialist was more eager to become partner in growth of Punjab’s industry that is going to surpass the growth of southern states.

 

Advising the Congress to shed its negative mindset, Mr Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said that the Congress should now accept the reality of sitting in opposition for next 25 years as president Shiromani Akali Dal Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal is determined to script the new development scenario of Punjab.
