Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Fatehgarh Sahib, December 23: Congress Legislature Party leader Charanjit Singh Channi today accused Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal of shielding Shiv Lal Doda wanted in the case of murder of a dalit Bhim Taan at his farm house at Abohar.
He was addressing demonstration on this issue in front of the administrative complex organized by party MLA Kuljit Singh Ngara MLA.
He alleged the Deputy CM and his police department are intentionally delaying the arrest of Doda to rescue him from the case. The police are giving him ample time to explore legal options while the state police and intelligence wings are aware of his whereabout. He advised the family of the Bhim Taank and Gurjant Singh to approach Punjab Haryana High Court for fair justice.
He said the SIT formed by the Badal government to investigate the matter is just an eyewash. The SIT is just a bunch of favored officers of Sukhbir Singh Badal who will never give justice to the aggrieved family members. Channi further said that this fight will be taken to its logical end by the Congress. The farmers and the Dalits together will wipe out the ruling party in the coming Vidhan Sabha elections.
Channi was accompanied by Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, MLA, Kaka Randeep Singh, MLA, Kuljit Nagra MLA, Harinder Bhambri, President DCC Fatehgarh Sahib alongwith Geja Ram the national president of the Central Valmiki Sabha India. They also burnt the effigy of Badal government in front of the District administrative complex and later gave memorandum on the behalf of their Sabha to Channi.
