Sukhbir should resign for the deteriorated law and order situation in Punjab- AAP

sucha-singh-chotepurChandigarh, May 5, 2016: Criticizing the depreciating law and order situation flourishing gang culture in Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party demanding the resignation of deputy chief minister, Sukhbir Badal who heads the police department in the state.

In a press statement issued by AAP today, Punjab Convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur cracked on Parkash Singh Badal and his deputy Sukhbir Badal for doing nothing to set the law and order right in the state. “There was a time when people used to talk about gang culture in UP and Bihar but now the youth of Punjab have adopted the same culture because of the political patronage. Rule of law is missing in the state. How can a criminal abuse a Police official on social networking site that too being in the jail? Who allowes the criminals to use electronic gadgets being in police custody” Chottepur asked. “Jail Minister Sohan Singh Thandal should also resign for falling to perform his duty.” He added.

Chhotepur said that it is hard to believe that the chief minister and his deputy are clueless about the gangsters and their activities but their silence over the issue raises question. “Can a criminal or drug paddler survive without the political patronage in the state? The links between drug paddlers and political leaders of Akali Dal, Congress and BJP are already out in the public. The people of the state have to bear the brunt of their friendship.” He said.

Chhotepur also criticized Congress for keeping mum on the serious issue of law and order in state. “Both the parties are riding in the same boat so they prefer to keep quiet about the failure of each other’s” he quipped.
