Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, May 4: Shiromani Akali Dal President and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, at an emergency meeting today evening in Delhi, finalised the strategy to counter the adjournment motion being moved by Congress Deputy leader Capt. Amarinder Singh tomorrow on the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab in the context of molestation and death of teenager Arshdeep Kaur who was thrown out of speeding Orbit transport company bus by the staff.
Those who could make it to the meeting convened at short notice included Naresh Gujaral and Balwinder Singh Bhunder, both Rajya Sabha members and Prem Singh Chandumajra and Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal.
The issue has rocked the state and received national attention. The body was cremated late in the evening yesterday after four days.
Orbit transport is owned by Sukhbir.
