Chandigarh/30 October/Shiromani Akali Dal president S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today strongly condemned the brutal killing of Hindu leader Mr. Vipan Sharma in Amritsar by two unidentified assailants, saying that law and order did not seem to exist in the state since the last seven months of rule of the Congress government.
In a press release, the SAD president said that the wave of violence had been sweeping through the state with impunity, bothering least the state government while letting miscreants free to make mockery of the law of the land. ‘The high-profile killings have been on the rise despite the huge claims made by the state police of containing such incidents of violence. If the government does not act, the situation could turn bad to worse, putting in danger the communal harmony in this border state,’ he added.
Asking the state government to take stern action against the people who are trying hard to let the terror loose in the streets of the state, S Badal said that we had to pay a heavy price for restoring peace in the state. “Peace and progress go hand in hand. We should not let the terror succeed in overcoming the state again. So the government must foil the nefarious designs of the trouble makers without delay” he added.
