Sukhbir Badal announces financial incentives for Tarntaran

Tarntaran, December 22: Describing Punjab as a land of peace and communal harmony, the Punjab Deputy Chief Minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal said that it is always the endeavor of the state government to maintain communal amity between people of all religions.

While addressing a mammoth gathering during state level Christmas function here at village Jhabal, S. Badal said that all religions teach peace, brotherhood and harmonious co-existence. Announcing a slew of measures for the welfare of Christian community, Deputy CM said the Punjab Government would start a train next year for the Christian community of the state so that they could visit its sacred place near Chennai. He also announced the setting up of Christian graveyards in rural and urban areas of the state where Christians are in a majority. He also informed that the state government would purchase the land if there will be no land available in some areas to construct Christian graveyards.

The Deputy Chief Minister also announced a grant of Rs. 50 crore for the purpose of the concretization of streets and drains in the Tarntaran city. He also made the announcement of financial grant worth Rs. 32 crore for ‘Deras’ and ‘Dhaanis’ falling in Tarntaran district.

S. Badal announced Rs. 3 crore for the development of Jhabal and Rs. 25 Lakh for the community hall (Masihi Bhawan) in Jhabal. Earlier, he laid the foundation stone of a bus stand in the village Jhabal which would come up at a cost of Rs 2.5 Crore.

On this occasion Revenue and Rehabilitation Minister S, Bikram Singh Majithia, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister S. Gulzar Singh Ranike, MLA Mr. Harmeet Singh Sandhu, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Virsa Singh Valtoha, Chairman Minorities Commission Punjab Mr. Munawwar Masih and Member Subordinate Services Selection Board Mr. Anwar Masih were also present.
