Stalling of Rs. 400 crore aid by centre big rap for Badal govt, Bhattal

Chandigarh, Former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal stated on Friday that reported stalling of Rs. 400 crores aid approved by 13th finance commission under state special plans to Punjab by Union ministry of finance has come as a big rap for Parkash Singh Badal headed government.

Bhattal ridiculed Badal headed government getting frequent snubbing from Modi government after it took over the reins at centre last year in May.

Earlier she said that National Democratic Alliance (NDA) turnedg down the reported request of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for waiving dues of Rs. 298 crore in regard to of deployment of central armed police forces (CAPFs) in the state between 1991 and 2012.
She said that besides this, few days back Modi government rebuked Badal government to settle outstandings of ` 42,000 crore of the previous cash credit limits (CCLs) received during different seasons for procurement of foodgrains.

Earlier also, she said that centre made Badal government to go down on its knees pertaining to release of amount under cash credit limit (CCL) for the paddy season and as well as clearance of dues amounting to Rs. 15000 crore to purchase the gunny bags to stack the wheat in April.

Senior Congress leader said that SAD had been making great noises in the aftermath of the installation of Modi government at centre that it would be a huge boon for state in terms of tiding over its fiscal crisis and improving financial condition has turned out to be major embarrassment for Badal government owing to one snub after another by Modi government.

Bhattal said that Badal government has been absolute failure in regard to maintaining fiscal discipline and improving financial health of the state. She said that Badal government has no cogent policy to cut down huge unplanned expenditure and undertake austerity measures for financial betterment of the state. She said that financial coffers of state are virtually empty adding that due to which developmental works in the state have come to grinding halt. She said people of Punjab have become tired of Badal government and want to get rid of it.
