Ontario , A special weather statement has been issued for southern Ontario ahead of a “major storm system” that is expected to hit the province on Wednesday and Thursday.
According to Environment Canada, a low pressure system over the southern United States will reach southern Ontario Wednesday, and will likely bring with it rain and significant snow in parts of the province. There is also a possibility of freezing rain in certain areas.
“The location of the heaviest snow and area at risk of receiving freezing rain will depend on the track of the low, which is still uncertain at this time,” the national weather agency said in a statement sent out Monday morning.
Environment Canada is advising people to refer to local forecasts as the storm system evolves.
