Special monitoring cell conducts surprise checking in 238 offices of education department

  • 68 employees found absent, 96 latecomers and 16 employees were long time absentees
    Chandigarh,  The education department was today on a checking spree when its special monitoring cell today conducted surprised checking in 238 offices of the education department across the state. This exercise is a part of consistentcampaign launched by the education department to ensure the 100 percent attendance in the offices.

    Disclosing this here today Mr. Daljit singh Cheema, Education Minister, Punjab said that during the checking of the offices 68 employees were found absent whereas 96 employees were the latecomers. He said that it was also found that there were 16 such employees who were not attending the offices since long time.

    Divulging the details the education minister said that 111 offices were raided in Nabha (Patiala) division, during which 12 employees were found absent, 34 late comers and 10 employees were found absent from the offices since long time. Similarly during the checking of offices of Jalandhar division 64 offices were raided and 36 employees were found absent, 47 late comers and 3 were not attending the offices since long. During the checking of 63 offices of Faridkot division 20 employees were absent, 15 late comers and 3 were absent from long time.

    Mr. Cheema further said that students generally idealised the teachers, so teacher should maintain high moral and ethical standards. He said the punctuality is the fundamental of all moral principles and teacher should first practise this principal before preaching this to the students.
