Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Patiala, Six persons were killed in a head-on collision between a Verna car and a Mahindra pick-up van near Samana toll plaza at around 1 am today morning.Two couples in their 30s from Samana and a male child, who were travelling in the Verna car, and the driver of the pick-up van were killed on the spot, while a two-year-old injured girl has been admitted to a local hospital.
DSP Samana Sukhdev Singh Virk informed that the two couples and their kids were coming from Patiala side when a Mahindra pick up van loaded with peas collided with the Verna car head-on near Samana poll plaza.While five persons died on the spot, one of the injured, Ankur, was rushed to Columbia Asia Hospital but was declared brought dead. The police had to cut the pick-up van to take out the body of the driver. The post-mortem of the deceased is being carried out at Rajindra Hospital.
