Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Bathinda, November 15: The Sikh preachers today decided to drop the campaign to gherao the residences of ministers and SGPC members in view of the house arrest of Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale and Baba Daler Singh.
This decision was taken at a meeting attended by Panthpreet Singh, Balwant Singh Nandgarh, Kewal Singh, Sukhjit Singh Khosa, Satnam Singh Chander and Kirpal Singh.
Kirpal Singh said the three main demands raised were the arrest of real culprits behind the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib, release of the two brothers framed by police in Bargari desecration case and case against the police officer responsible for opening fire on protesters at Behbal Kalan.
He said the meeting observed that the state government had handed over the case to the CBI, two brothers accused in the Bargari case released and the name of then Moga SSP Charanjit Sharma added in the case pertaining to opening of fire on agitators.
