Mumbai, Shiv Sena MP Anant Geete will resign from the Narendra Modi cabinet days after the party broke its alliance with the BJP.
Party chief Uddhav Thackeray made this announcement a day after Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray accused Sena of hanging on to power.
Geete was the Union Minister of Heavy Industries.
Earlier Geete had ruled out his resignation from the union cabinet, saying Shiv Sena will continue to be part of Modi government.
The 25-year-old Sena-BJP alliance collapse after the two parties failed to reach a consensus on seat sharing for the October-15 Maharashtra Assembly elections.
