Amritsar-The Dal Khalsa has urged the executive members of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to take decision as per wishes of the Panth and not keeping the interests of their political masters in mind at tomorrow’s meeting convened to deliberate upon the situation arising out of the latest directive issued by Panj Piaras to sack Takht jathedars.
Endorsing the directive of Panj Piaras to sack disgraced Takht Jathedar’s, party spokesperson Kanwarpal Singh said what five beloved ones have said was the voice of the Panth. In other words, he said the five have articulated the desire of the Sikh Panth. He said the SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar should not make a mistake by considering them as just another SGPC employee. “The Panth stands behind them. He cautioned Makkar not to repeat his past folly by suspending them again”.
He said SGPC has drawn flak from Sikhs for failing to live up to expectations of Sikhs and their graph has touched a low. He warned the executive members not to further downgrade the institutions and the Panth.
Hitting hard at Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal for ruining the religious institutions, he said the day was not far when misuse of SGPC and the Akal Takht would pave the way for their political doom.
