Security guard who shot and killed two during Danforth McDonalds scuffle won’t face charges

ca2Toronto:The security guard who shot and killed two Toronto men during a scuffle inside a McDonalds restaurant near the Danforth last February will not face criminal charges, police said Wednesday.
Ryan Hind, 39, and Donny Ouimette, 25, were shot dead some time before 3 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28 by an armed security guard who was picking up food at the restaurant.
Police said Hind and Ouitmette were “involved in a physical altercation” with the guard, who suffered a firearm-related injury himself during the fight. Witnesses said at the time that the fight occurred somewhere near the restaurant’s serving counter.
Toronto police homicide investigators said in a news release that after a “comprehensive” investigation and consultations with senior crown attorneys, “it was determined that there would be no reasonable prospect of conviction, therefore no criminal charges will be laid.”
