Sampla visits Badal turf twice in a week

Muktsar, The BJP is making all-out efforts to gain ground in Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s home district Muktsar with Union Minister Vijay Sampla paying two visits to the district in less than a week.On January 11, Sampla held two rallies in rural areas of Muktsar, covering Lambi (CM’s seat) and Muktsar Assembly constituencies. He again visited the district today and held meetings with the party workers in urban areas — Muktsar and Malout towns. Though he claimed the SAD-BJP alliance was intact, no Akali leader attended his programme today as well when he was chairing the function of a school here.Questioned on this, he said, “I am here to attend the function of an RSS school… it is not a political programme. The leaders of both the parties share the dais whenever there is any joint event.” Sampla first held a meeting of the RSS and BJP activists here and then held one in Malout. On the drug menace, he said, “There is strong need to change the mindset of the people rather than bringing any strictness.” He feigned ignorance on the transfer of the Enforcement Directorate official who recently interrogated Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia. The BJP leader said the Centre had earmarked Rs 200 core to help the Scheduled Caste community set up their own business.
