Hoshiarpur/Jalandhar : Upset with the Deputy Commissioner for not making it to the District Development and Coordination Committee (DISHA) meeting in Hoshiarpur, Union MoS Vijay Sampla today adjourned it, saying that he would take up the matter with the Parliament Committee of Privileges. As the chairman of the committee, Sampla said he had earlier expressed his desire to convene it on June 21, but DC Vipul Ujwal had then called for postponing it as the Assembly session was in progress. “I had scheduled the meeting for today. I reached at 11 am and distributed scholarships among girls, but the DC did not come. Instead, he sent his ADCs, who said the DC had gone to attend a programme as part of the Sanjhi Rasoi scheme. Annoyed at his attitude, I adjourned the meeting,” the BJP MP from Hoshiarpur said. “At the meeting, I was to check the progress of various schemes of the Centre. I wanted the DC to note the shortcomings and get the follow-up done,” said Sampla. Ujwal said, “I had a personal exigency and made it to the meeting just five minutes after the minister left. I had sent my ADCs to attend it till I joined them. I have discussed the issue with the minister. He will give me the next date of meeting soon.”
