Chandigarh, December 17
Union Minister and state BJP chief Vijay Sampla today challenged Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh to list at least nine promises fulfilled after assuming office in March.
Addressing mediapersons on the completion of the Congress government’s nine months, Sampla said, “He had made several promises before the Assembly elections. He should tell us which ones he has fulfilled.”
The BJP leader said every section of society was feeling betrayed, especially farmers. As many as 343 farmers have ended lives since Capt Amarinder took oath as CM. Some held the state government responsible for their plight, he added.
According to Sampla, the nine major promises made by Capt Amarinder — full loan waiver for farmers, ban on ‘kurki’ of agricultural land, Ghar Ghar Rozgar, unemployment allowance, providing smartphones, houses for homeless Dalits, eradicating drug menace within a month, increasing elderly and women pension to Rs 1,500, and electricity at the rate of Rs 5 per unit for the industry — had not seen the light of day.
