Chandigarh, Punjab Deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today said the INLD-SAD alliance would form the next government in Haryana, even as he emphasized that the SAD’s fight was with the Congress and not the BJP and that it would work to oust the corrupt Congress regime from Haryana politics.
Interacting with newsmen along with Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Charanjit Singh Atwal and Revenue Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia after the oath taking ceremony of newly elected MLA from Talwandi Sabo – Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu, the Deputy CM said the SAD’s ties with the INLD were decades old and would continue. He also disclosed that the SAD would announce its two candidates for the Ambala and Kolianwali assembly constituencies in the next two days.
When questioned about the ties with the BJP, the Deputy CM said the SAD’s ties with the BJP in Punjab were permanent and not open to any speculation or conjecture. He also announced that the alliance would fight the forthcoming civic polls together as per its traditional seat sharing formula.
Mr Badal also announced that five more MLAs were ready to join the Akali Dal and that the party was examining their requests as well as looking for appropriate time to induct them into the SAD fold.
Talking about the newly announced party structure, Mr. Badal said that in 1996 as per Moga resolution Shiromani Akali Dal has transformed itself into a Punjabi party. “It is in keeping with this ethos and identity that important responsibilities have been assigned to leaders of the hindu community as well as other communities in the organizational structure”, he added.
Talking about the reasons behind the proposed move to appoint four Youth Akali Dal presidents in Punjab, Mr. Badal said this would ensure more connectivity of the party with the masses at the grass root level.
Responding to the question about the allegations of horse trading by the AAP in Delhi, Mr. Badal said that “AAP is a group of frustrated persons and their chief Mr. Arvind Kejriwal has openly admitted that he made a mistake by resigning as chief minister of Delhi”. He said the BJP-SAD was all set to form the people friendly government in the national capital to fulfill the demands of the people.
Mr. Badal has also said that the Union Government under Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi had cleared road projects worth Rs. 8000 crore in 100 days which were pending under UPA rule for the last 3 years. On the demand of special economic package by the Punjab Government, Mr. Badal said “we are demanding only our right as Punjab has fought the nation’s war against terrorism and paid a heavy price of Rs. 2500 crore for this. Besides this keeping in view the contribution of Punjab for food grains in national kitty, the Union Government should announce an economic package for the state”, he added
Showing solidarity with the Jammu and Kashmir Government in the hour of crisis, Mr. Badal said “we are ready to help the neighbouring State in any manner. He said SGPC would also organize “langars” for the flood victims in Jammu and Kashmir.
